75 Afghan Prisoners Returned from Pakistan

75 Afghan prisoners among them 6 children have been released from various prisons of Sindh state of Pakistan and were sent back to the country, Abdul Jabar Takhari, the Afghan consul in the state said.

According to the consul, the prisoners’ entire expenses including the lawyers’ fee have been paid by the consulate in Sindh state.

Takhari added that 300 Afghan prisoners are still trapped in the state’s prisons.

He asked Pakistan’s government to stop detaining Afghans especially those who travel to the country for treatment purposes while urging the Afghan people to avoid traveling to the country without holding legal documents.

This comes as thousands of Afghan refugees return to the country from Iran on a weekly basis.

Both the neighboring nations are the biggest countries hosting Afghan refugees the number which rose after the previous Afghan government collapsed.
