Zabiullah Mujahid, the chief spokesperson of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan reacted to the recent report published by the United Nations Security Council and termed it unfounded.

A statement released on his X (former Twitter) indicates that Afghan security forces have conducted hundreds of operations against terror groups in the country that have destroyed their capabilities.

Daesh members have been reduced to zero in the last year and yet the UNSC’s “undocumented” report of which no proof exists brings the organization’s status under question, said Mujahid in the statement.

The UNSC was briefed on Friday (August 25th) by two experts on the fight against terrorism implying that ISIS-K and TTP are posing threats from Afghanistan to other countries as the groups have grabbed NATO-caliber weaponry.

In reaction, Mujahid has blamed the international community for causing the ongoing humanitarian situation in Afghanistan by imposing sanctions and freezing the assets of Afghanistan’s Central Bank.

The spokesman has asked for urgent change in the situation to help regional stability prevail in the region.
