University Lecturers to Haqqani: Reopen Girls’ Schools, Universities

University lecturers in the eastern Nangarhar province asked the acting minister of interior Sarajudin Haqqani to allow girls to get an education as Islam has allowed them to.
The acting interior minister met with university lecturers, scholars, and ethnic elders in the eastern province and heard their suggestions and objections on the governance of the Islamic Emirate.
Speaking on behalf of private universities in Nangarhar province, Ahmad Tariq said girls’ schools and universities should reopen as Islam religion has not banned their schooling.
Addressing the acting minister, Tariq added that Afghans should not be obliged to send their daughters to places which are designed by non-Afghan and is against the Afghan culture.
Other participants talked about governance and suggested the doors of government administration be open to common people.
The acting minister of interior Sarajudin Haqqani expressed his gratitude to the people of Nangarhar province for having stood shoulder to shoulder with Mujahidn against aggressors and occupiers.
Haqqani pledged to resolve the problems that are related to him and will convey messages to the supreme leader Hebtullah Akhundzada.
It comes as Haqqani during his visit to the western Herat province said that efforts are going on to reopen schools and universities of girls in Afghanistan but the process will take time as it has turned to a controversial topic.
