Islamic Emirate to Form 40 Additional Districts
The Ministry of interior affairs of the Islamic Emirate has announced that the frontiers of 27 districts approved earlier have been designated and that a total of 40 additional districts will be formed in the near future.
Speaking at the government accountability program, authorities of the ministry shared their last year’s achievements and future plans and programs.
Spokesperson of interior ministry Abdul Matin Qani said 710 thousand and 405 passports have been issued during the past year generating revenue worth 4 billion and 821 million Afghani to the government’s treasury.
In addition, the general directorate of passports of the ministry has also extended 4 thousand and 859 visas which have generated revenue worth one million US dollars.
Talking about narcotics and drug addicts in the country, the authorities named building a 5000-bed rehabilitation center for drug addicts, closing 6 hundred and 44 intoxicant-producing factories, eliminating 11 thousand and 252 hectares of poppy, and collecting 42 thousand and 888 drug addicts for treatment as their major achievements in the past solar year.
The spokesperson added that the graph of felonies and crimes has had a downward move acknowledging that a total of 20 thousand and 322 felonies have occurred during the time span.
In the meantime, Qani said equipping and professionalism of police forces, securing highways across the country, reclaiming government and private land from usurpers, increasing the number and ensuring transparency in the passport issuance process, and forming four geographic zones in the capital Kabul are the ministry’s major plans in the upcoming four years.
