Floods Kill 22, Destroyed Hundreds of Houses in Wardak Province

The consecutive downpours that triggered floods in several districts of the central Maidan Wardak province killed at least 22 and injured tens of others Friday night.
The floods occurred in the capital city Maidan Shahr and Chaghato, Jalrez, Chak, Sayed Abad, and Nerkh districts of the province.
It is with grave concern to know that recent floods have claimed the lives of 12 people and 40 others are unaccounted for in the Jalrez district of Maidan Wardak province, wrote Zabiullah Mujahid, the spokesperson of IE on his Twitter.
The floods have also caused major financial losses to the people of the province as it has washed out hundreds of hectares of land and fruit trees.
Victims and those affected by the floods say that they had never seen such floods in the province.
