Afghan Foreign Ministry Denies Iran’s Claim over ISIS Presence in Afghanistan
The Foreign Ministry of the Islamic Emirate reacted to recent claims of Iran’s Foreign Minister Amir Abdulahian over ISIS members’ presence in Afghanistan and termed the claims to be baseless.
Leader and other committed members of ISIS have recently been brought to Afghanistan which is a major challenge for the Taliban, Abdulahian said during his recent interview.
Abdul Qahar Balkhi, the spokesperson of the Afghan foreign ministry in a series of Twitter posts asked Iran to share their information about ISIS members in Afghanistan so that Afghan security forces can react.
Afghanistan has no border with Arab nations, it would be better for other countries to secure their border rather than blaming other countries, reads one of the tweets.
The spokesperson has also asked Iran to stop triggering conflicts between the brotherly nations of Afghanistan and Iran while adding that Afghanistan’s soil will never be used by anyone to threaten other countries.
This is not the first time; Islamic Emirate has always denied claims over the presence of terror groups in Afghanistan and its soil threatening other nations. The IEA has also claimed that ISIS has no threatening power in the country as they do not possess any geography inside Afghanistan.
